we put in an application for rescue but are wondering how long it takes. it seems to be taking awhile to hear anything at all. we would like another dog by christmas hopefully before it gets too cold and possibly snowy. if we dont hear soon we would prob go to the pound but prefer the rescue.

anyone know how long it takes?

My brother tried to adopt a dog around the same time last year and he never heard back from anyone. Granted he was a single guy living in an apartment but still no one ever responded. I've heard that a lot when trying to adopt that they either never respond or respond negatively. He ended up buying a puppy a few days before Christmas. It's so sad too because if people are willing to rescue they should be able too. Now, I don't know how you'll feel about this but there is a 3 month old boxer puppy at the Moorestown Mall's pet store. She apparently has a parasite but is skin and bones. She looks like she could really use a good home and some loving care. I don't know how much she is, just that she's 3 months old and appears ill. I feel really bad for her and I hope she gets a good home...sorry if this didn't help.

thats terrible, why didnt they respond??? at least to say why, it will give the rescue a bad reputation....

thanks for the tip on the mall Pup. we were hoping for over 4 months but under 1.5 years old. I have an 8 month old baby so we didnt want to go through the entire puppy process again... chewing, potty training LOL. and if she has medical problems that would make it harder, even though it breaks my heart to hear that. i think if the rescue doesnt work out i might do a pound pup. Chase is a breeder dog and I love him but Ive always felt guilty about not looking at the pound pups too.

We also tried a rescue and had problems with them getting back to us. We didn't end up getting a rescue dog. I would call them and keep calling them. It's probably worth it in the end, but I don't understand why they don't respond. They say they need to get the dogs adopted asap and then never respond.

It's frustrating, but It will feel good in the end.
