My boxer does the same kind of thing, though he isn't aggressive and doesn't look to fight. However, he does freeze and his nub stands straight up. I'm not sure if it's nervousness or what, but he does this while the other dog checks him out, then eventually pounces to try to play. He does react the same way sometimes when kids are around him (he doesn't like kids w/o an adult accompanying them, for some reason), and if he gets too freaked out he'll kind of reset his stance and bark.

We have the same problem with hoss. The more dogs he interacts with the better. He used to fight with every dog he see. Now his fights are few and far between. Thats why I like this group because it taught him that not every dog is a bad dog. But I really think my dog is just an A-hole, Thats why he fights alot. But every dog is diffrent.

Does anyone else have a dog aggressive boxer? My Bella is the GREATEST with people and ESPECIALLY kids...and my boston terrier pup, but she is has a 'tude with other doggies...she DID let another boxer come up to her the other night and touch her/sniff her face without trying to snap, but she growls a bit and gets this crazy weird/kind of awesome stance where she looks like a friggin statue...any comments on this?? I'm going to try to bring her, but if she gets overwhelmed I will have to leave
