Last month at the dog park was a lot of fun! Thank you to everyone who came out. The park was under construction for the most part but the good news is we should have new sod and rocks for this meetup.biggrin

I would like to meet up in the [u]back right corner of the park[/u]. All the boxers near the entranceway tends to be a bit crowded for new dogs coming in, and the park officials would rather we didn't set roots there. I know it will be difficult to get them around to the other side but hey, we can try!

I hope everyone will bring their boxers out for a fun day at the park in June. It's free and open to all boxers! There will be no restrictions on spayed or neutered boxers...all are welcome. We need to make sure to obey all the rules of the park... (Even I forgot to take Winston's choke collar off) The rules are posted at www.pawsparkjaxbeach.com so you can check it out!

    Since 10 am is really 11 am because of DST, no one told the sun and it is hot at 11:30. I would like to propose that some of us who can or want to meet at 9 am for the next mtg, do so. That way when the others come at 10:00, we can stay another half hours and avoid the blazing summer noon sun. Remember, the daily temperature is taken in the shade and our pups wear fur coats all the t ime.

    we have a new member of the family we will bring with us this saturday. his name is duke he's a big boy rescued from animal care and control, under weight but we will fix that. he is very playfull and looking foward to boxing with new friends

    I was at the park on wedsnesday and the construction is still there, hopefully by June it will be gone!

    I'm still in a wheelchair after shattering my tibia. Unfortunately, I can't roll around the dog park, and it would be difficult to manage Kirby if he got in a scuffle. Kirby misses everyone! Hopefully I will be all healed up in a few months.

    Cant wait to meet all the other boxers, we are excited about our first meetup.

Who attended?

    • “ Jersey had a great first meeting, even though her favorite spot seemed to be in the hole under the bench. A lot of dogs seemed to be trying to protect which caused a few scuffles, hopefully next time she will be big enough to play a little more. ”
    • “ My only negative comment is that the last couple meets there has been a large breed dog both times that seems to get into fights with the boxers. Wish my dog would do something besides be attached to my side the entire time. Will be happy when I have a dog that does better at the meets when I get the housing situation figured out. ”
    • “ some owners not in control of their dogs, other encouraging aggressive behavior, and actually egging on other animals. if this is the kind of new members coming into these meet ups we will pass on any future meet ups and will no longer attend them. ”
